In Bulgaria, the service is performed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice with a special certificate “APOSTILLE”.

Furthermore, in order for a document to be legalized, it is necessary to carry the necessary seals and endorsements required by the Bulgarian legislation and the bilateral agreements to which the Republic of Bulgaria is a party.

What is apostille?

Apostille means the certification of a document in the country in which it was issued. This is a unified way of legalizing public acts and documents that are presented abroad. In Bulgaria, it was introduced on April 30, 2001, when it became a party to the Hague Convention, concluded in The Hague on October 5, 1961.
